Notes - Kenneth L. Gates, 87, of 860 county Route 35,Mexico,died Friday at home. Born in Hastings, he was a life resident of Vermillion. He retired in 1976 as a millworker with Sealright. He was a member of Palermo United Methodist Church. His wife, the former Marion Hotaling, died in 1969. Survivors: His companion, Gertrude Craw of Palermo; three daughters, Shirley Wallis of Hastings and Sheila Minckler and Patricia Rice, both of Vermillion; two sons, Lewis of Mexico and James of Vermillion; two sisters, Leona Shutts and Betty Hutchinson, both of Parish; a brother, Glen of Hastings; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harter Funeral Home. Burial, Vermillion Cemetery, New Haven. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 2983 W. Main St., Parish.
