    • Newspaper Obituary - August 31, 1899 Scranton Republican - Killed At Plymouth - James McBride of Railroad street, Plymouth was killed within a hundred yards of his home by an excursion train returning from Mountain Park at about 9 o'clock Tuesday evening. He was 56 years of age and is survived by his wife and the following children: Cornelius, Hugh, Charles, Bridget and Mary. The latter is in New York City. The following step-children also survive: James, John and Edward Kennedy. Funeral announcement later.

      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 31, 1899 Wilkes Barre Record - Instantly Killed - The Body Of James McBride Cut In Two By An Ex-Cursion Train - James McBride of Plymouth was instantly killed on Tuesday night at 9:30 by an excursion train returning from Mountain Park, when he was within a hundred yards of his home. No one knows exactly how the accident occurred and it was some time before his body was discovered. The body was badly mangled, being cut in two and one arm and one leg were severed from the body. The deceased was 56 years old and well known, having resided in Plymouth for many years. A wife and the following children survive him: Hugh, Charles, Bridget and Mary at Home, and Cornelius of New York City. The following stepchildren also survive: James, John and Edward Kennedy at home, and Misses Anna and Lizzie Kennedy at Philadelphia. The funeral announcement will be made later.
