- Clifford "Buster" Philips Jr., age 80, life resident of Pulaski passed away Saturday at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse surrounded by his loving family. Buster was born October 29, 1937 in Syracuse, the son of Clifford and Helen Hammond Philips Sr. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1955 and served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1958. Buster married Helen Samson on November 27, 1965. He was employed by the Pulaski Central School District for 33 years as a transportation supervisor, retiring in 2001. Buster was a member of the Robert Edwards American Legion Post #458 in Pulaski, and he enjoyed racing stockcars for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Helen, one daughter, Teresa Lentzer of Mexico, two sons, Bryan (Robin) Philips of Pulaski and Mark (Susan) Philips of Marshall, MN, three sisters, Donna Clark, Linda Demetrick, Valerie DeVine, one brother, Charles "Chuck" Philips, and seven grandchildren, Anna, Brandon, Samantha, Robert, Cassidy, Isabelle, and Zachary.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3rd, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
