- Dayton G. Whaley July 24, 1919 -- Oct. 13, 1995
Dayton Grover Whaley, 76, of Modesto died Friday at his home.
Mr. Whaley was a native of Richland, N.Y. He had lived in Modesto nine years.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic for the U.S. Government. He served in the
Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion and Disabled
Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Marietta Whaley of Modesto; children, Frederick
Whaley of Rome, N.Y., and Patricia Hall of Callao, Va.; brothers, Robert
Whaley of Utica, N.Y., and Oscar Whaley of Syracuse, N.Y.; sister, Anna Whaley
of Syracuse, N.Y.; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at McHenry Chapel of
Franklin & Downs.
