      Newspaper Obituary - Friday Afternoon, August 25, 1916 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Pulaski, August 25 - Mrs. Cynthia L. Hemans, a native of Jefferson county, and the widow of Edwin Hemans, died Wednesday night at the Hemans home at Port Ontario. Her health had not been of the best for some time past, but was able to be about the house much of the time. She was stricken while resting on a couch in the sitting room and expired before a physician could reach Port Ontario. Cynthia Spink Hemans was born in Depauville, October 30, 1843, and with her husband, came to the town of Richland nearly half a century ago. Mr. Hemans passed away last April. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frederick J. Herrington, of Port Ontario, and a brother and sister, Andrew T. Spink, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. James Seavey of Gouverneur. Funeral services will be held at the family home, four miles west of Pulaski, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. E. A. Rogers of Pulaski will be the officiating clergyman, and burial will be made beside her husband in the Daysville cemetery.
