    • November 9, 1894 ~ Celia E. Box, age 75 years, 9 months, 20 days, Widow, born in Devonshire, England, Resident of Richland Township for 50 years, Daughter of Richard Knollin, died in Pulaski of influenza and heart disease.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 14, 1894 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Celia Elizabeth Knollin was born January 19, 1819, in Brixham parish, near Dartmouth, Devonshire, England, and died November 9, 1894, at her late residence, corner North and Park streets, Pulaski, New York. In 1827, with her father, Richard Knollin, Sr., she came to this country and settled at Chittenango, Madison county. A few years later they settled in Sandy Creek, where she was married to the late Wm. Box, in 1889. Five or six years after their marriage they came to Pulaski for a permanent home, where, after forty-four years of wedded life, Mr. Box died, October 2, 1888. To them were born three children, two of whom died when quite young, leaving only one son, Mr. R. W. Box, of this village, surviving. Mrs. Box was of a family of eight children, only two of whom are still living, Richard and John Knollin, both of Sandy Creek. Her last sister, Mrs. Emily H. Moffett, of Watertown, New York, passed away only a few weeks before her, October 20, 1894. Her parents were Wesleyan Methodists. Mrs. Box was converted in early life, and for the fifty years of her residence in Pulaski has been an honored and loved member of the Methodist Episcopal church of this place. Her life has been one of usefulness and a blessing to many. When death came she felt that the was prepared to meet it, through the rich mercy and grace, of her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. The funeral was held yesterday, and was appropriately conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. D. Webster. Interment took place in the family burial plot in Pulaski cemetery.
