Newspaper Article - Wednesday, March 7, 1945 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Ida Samson Dies at Daughter’s Home - Mrs. Ida Elmira Samson, a well-known resident of Boylston, died Friday, March 2, 1945 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Moore in Lorraine where she had made her home for the past year and a half. She was born in Boylston December 14, 1877, the daughter of John and Jane Bradley Bush. She attended rural schools in Boylston and at the age of 16 was married December 21, 1893 to Edward W. Samson. Their married life was spent in Boylston in Redfield where Mr. Samson was a farmer and lumberman. He died in 1937. Mrs. Samson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Grover Joyner of Lacona; Mrs. Ned Straight of Sandy Creek; Mrs. Dorothy Moore of Lorraine; one son Corporal Harold Samson of Camp Barkeley, Texas, and 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at the home of her daughter in Lorraine at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. David Owen, pastor of the Sandy Creek Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Orwell.
