Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 4, 1939 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Ellnoir D. Mitchell, 85 - Mrs. Ellnoir D. Mitchell, widow of the late Lambert Mitchell, died in Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, December 25. Mrs. Mitchell was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Myria Hemens and was born in Port Ontario, November 15, 1853. In 1877 she married Lambert Mitchell of Columbia city, Indiana and the couple came to Pulaski the following year and went to live on a large farm on the Port road. They purchased this farm in 1884 where they spent the remainder of their lives. Mr. Mitchell died in 1913. He was a prominent breeder of Red Pole cattle, introducing them into this section. For several years he exhibited these cattle at the fairs throughout the state. Mrs. Mitchell was the last of a family of nine children. Surviving are two sons, Lambert Mitchell and Dot W. Mitchell, both of Pulaski, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Sanderson Allen of Syracuse. The funeral was held in Syracuse, December 28, and the body placed in the vault for interment in Pulaski in the spring.
