[Note: Floyd Whitfield died October 25, 1960 at Mohawk, Herkimer County, New York and is buried there in Mohawk Cemetery.]
Newspaper Obituary - (date unavailable) 1941 Daily Press - Utica, New York - Mohawk - Mrs. Ella Pratt Whitfield, formerly of this village, died May 23, 1941 in her home in Syracuse, and her son, Walter Whitfield, has been called back from Fort Benning, Georgia, where he is a trainee with the 43rd Hospital Division. Whitfield lived in this village and was employed in the furniture department of the H. G. Munger department store in Herkimer prior to his induction into the army. A daughter, Mrs. Wallace Nelson, Syracuse, also survives. Mrs. Whitfield moved from Mohawk in 1917.
