Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 21, 1914 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Dies of Tetanus - Ruby, the nine- year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Lillis, south of this village, on the Mexico road, died Wednesday morning. The child had been vaccinated and it is claimed she had lockjaw. The funeral was held Friday, burial in Orwell. Mr. Lillis, up to two years ago, lived on the Frank Woods farm south of this village.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 22, 1914 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Orwell - Mr. and Mrs. Levi Brownell were called to Fernwood last week by the serious illness and death of their little granddaughter, Ruby Lillis, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Lillis. Ruby, who was a beautiful, active child, and nearly nine years old, was vaccinated four weeks ago. About two weeks later she was taken ill with tetanus and only lived five days. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of many friends, who were pained to hear of the untimely death of their daughter. The funeral services were held in the home near Fernwood, Friday, October 9, and the little form brought to Evergreen cemetery for burial.
