- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, March 23, 1981 Syracuse Herald Journal - Arthur C. Sadler, 64, of Muskrat Bay Road, Brewerton, died Saturday morning at home after a long illness. He was a native of Hamburg and had resided in Brewerton for the past 42 years, where he had operated the Sadler Fuel Oil & Coal Co., until 1961. He also started a rubbish removal business for the village of Brewerton and had retired from the New process Gear Corp., East Syracuse, in 1979, where he was employed in the heat treatment department. Mr. Sadler was a member of the Brewerton Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Gronau; three daughters, Judy A. Woodard of Brewerton, Jeanette M. LaCross of Syracuse and Mrs. Beverly Hardy of Destin, Fla; eight grandchildren; his father, Claude Sadler Sr. of Brewerton; two brothers, Claude Jr. of Central Square and Maurice of West Amboy; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Auringer of West Monroe, Mrs. Norma Horr of Central Square and Mrs. James Schafer of Brewerton; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, Inc., 206 S. Main St. Central Square. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
