Notes - Frieda M (Mead) Janacek November 5, 2020 Frieda Mead Janacek, of Sandy Creek, NY went to her heavenly reward on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Frieda was born in Boylston, NY on August 10, 1934. She was the daughter of E. Walter and Charlotte Yerdon Mead. She married Roland H Janacek at Vorea Community Church in Orwell on April 4, 1953. Frieda was a graduate of Sandy Creek Central School in 1952. She worked at the telephone company in Syracuse before having children. She and her husband worked at Janacek Auction Service and Pulaski Roller Drome for many years. She was a devoted member of Vorea Community Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Treasurer and in many other areas. Frieda is survived by her husband Roland, two daughters; Roxanne & Perry Ferguson of Boylston, Renee & Shawn Garvin of Orwell, and a son Rod & Kelly (Rossa) Janacek of Sarasota, FL, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; Rachel & Stephen Allen (Logan & Shane), Amanda & Josh Altoran (Adalina), Emily & Jon Bushie (Colton, Teghan & Magnolia), Shannon & Ben Fisher, Mitchell Garvin, Michael Garvin. She is also survived by her sisters; Eleanor & John LaCelle, Virginia & Herbert Smith and Wanda Bishop, a sister in law Dolores Hall and a multitude of much-loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Her son Russell Mead Janacek passed away on June 26, 2019. She was a resident of Samaritan Keep Nursing Home in Watertown for the past 8 years where she was cared for by a loving staff. She touched lives with her loving and gentle spirit. Donations in her memory can be made to Samaritan Keep Home 3rd Floor Recreation Fund, 133 Pratt St, Watertown, NY 13601 or Vorea Community Church, 12 Waggoner Rd, Richland, NY 13144. Calling Hours will be Monday November 9, 2020 from 4-7pm at the Summerville Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday November 10, 2020at 11am at Vorea Community Church. Burial will follow at Boylston-Sandy Creek Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for all services per current guidelines.
