McCarthy - Services for Mrs. Ida May McCarthy, 91, of Avenel were held in the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel St., Avenel. Mrs. McCarthy, died in Rahway Hospital, was a member of the Young at Heart Club of The Avenel First Presbyterian Church, the Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club and the Daughters of America in Avenel. Born in Wanamie, Pa., she lived in Edison before moving to Avenel 16 years ago. Surviving are a son, Harry; a daughter, Mrs. Garnet Thalheimer; a brother, George Krouse; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

      Newspaper Obituary - November 8, 1997 Central New Jersey Home News - New Brunswick, New Jersey - Ida May McCarthy Age 91 WoodBridge - Ida May McCarthy died Thursday at Rahway Hospital. She was 91. She was born in Wanamie, Pa., and had lived in Edison before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge 16 years ago. She was a member of the Avenel First Presbyterian Church and the Young at Heart Club at the church. She was a member of the Avenel Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club and the Daughters of America. Her husband, Lyndon, died in1959. A son, Lyndon R., also is deceased. Surviving are a son, Harry of Avenel; a daughter, Garnet Thalheimer of Marathon, N.Y.; a brother, George Krouse of Shawtown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel St., Avenel. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
