    • Newspaper Obituary - Monday, July 6, 1936 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader - David J. Lewis, of Duncannon, Pa., son of the late John X and Mary Miles Lewis, of Plymouth, died Saturday morning in Temple University hospital, Philadelphia, following a months illness. Deceased left Plymouth 30 years ago to enter government mail service in western Pennsylvania. his widow, Mrs. Jessie Lewis and these children survive: Mrs. Gail B. Young, wife of supervisor of Hughestown schools; Edith, state nurse at Harrisburg; Mary, teacher in Langhorne public schools; David, Harrisburg; George, a printer, Ruth, John, and Paul, Duncannon; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Schimmelbush, Plymouth and Mrs. Thomas Schotten, Norfolk; three grandchildren: Marilyn Gail Young, Plymouth; Edith Barbara and David Lewis Jr., Harrisburg. Funeral will be held in the home in Duncannon tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. Interment will be in Duncannon, cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - July 6, 1936 Harrisburg Telegraph - David J. Lewis - David J. Lewis, 60, Duncannon, died Saturday in the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was a railway mail clerk for thirty two years. Funeral, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Nickel funeral home, Duncannon, the Rev. L. E. Shaffner, pastor of the Duncannon Methodist Church officiating. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon. View, tongith at the parlors. Members of Mr. Lewis crew of mail clerks will be pallbearers. Survivors, widow, Mrs. Jessie M.; sons, George M., Duncannon; David J. Jr., Estherton; John M.; Paul F., both at home; daughters, Mrs. Gail Young, Plymouth; Miss Edith, Harrisburg; Miss Ruth, Duncannon; Miss Mary, Langhorn; stepson, Richard Harp, West Fairview. He was a member of the following mail clerks societies; Mutual Benefit Association; Immediate Relief Association; Railway Mail Clerks Association.
