      Mrs. Bertha Smith - Mrs. Bertha Smith, 76, died yesterday morning at 4:35 in Nanticoke State Hospital, where she had been a patient since January 8. Mrs. Smith resided with her sister, Mrs. Emma Smith, at 20 1/2 West Union Street, Shickshinny. Born in Wanamie on March 5, 1880, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chris Nulty. She lived in Southdale most of her life and resided in Shickshinny the last several years. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Southdale Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Thomas, Baltimore, Md.; nine children, Russell, Baltimore, Md.; Harold, Beach Haven; Mrs. Myrtle Zimmerman, Berwick; Mrs. Harold Stooky, Dover, N.J.; Gordon, Old Saybrook, Conn.; James, Chatham, N.J.; Mrs. James Place, Newfield, N.J., and Mrs. Lloyd Buchanan, Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandhchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Rose Nauss,Hazelton. Funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home, 201 West Second Stree, Berwick, with Rev. George Taylor officiating. Burial in Dodson Cemtery, Southdale.
