      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 14, 1906 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Sylvester Nobles - On Friday morning, November 9, occurred the death of Sylvester Nobles, who for nearly fifty years had been a resident of this village. Mr. Nobles had been in poor health for a number of years, but for several weeks had been alarmingly ill, suffering intensely from Bright's disease. Deceased was about 69 years old and is survived by a widow and two daughters, Mrs. Ezekiel Casterline, of Pulaski, and one living in Cato; also two sisters, Mrs. Julia Howlett, of Sandy Creek, and Mrs. Nancy Wilcox, of Wisconsin. Prayer was offered at the home, Monday, at half past ten and at the Baptist church, of which Mr. Nobles was a member, at eleven o'clock, Rev. A. I. Ehle officiating. The remains were taken to Ellisburg for interment.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 21, 1906 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Sylvester Noble - Sylvester Noble was born in Dansville, Stuben County, August 26, 1835, and moved here in 1842. He commenced to learn the tinsmith trade when 17 years old of Mr. Cronk, of Sandy Creek, then went to Adams and finished his trade which he followed for 52 years. He was married at Mannsville to Betsey Plummer, April 10, 1865, by Rev. Mr. Hall. He was a member of the Ringgold Fire Company, 15 years, of the A. O. U. W. 32 years, also of the Baptist Church 40 years. He was confined to his bed seven weeks with cancer of stomach, passing away the 9th of November, at half past two. He is survived by a widow and two children, Mrs. Ezekiel Casterline, of this place, and Mrs. Lemuel La Buff, of Cato, also two sisters, Mrs. Julia Howlett, of this place and Mrs. Nancy Wilcox, of Wisconsin; one half-brother, J. B. Cole, of Williamstown and one half-sister, Mrs. Levi Albright, of Fulton, besides many other friends. Funeral services at the Baptist Church were conducted by Rev. A. I. Ehle. Interment at Ellisburg, November 12.
