    • Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 21, 1904 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Benjamin Dow - Mr. Benjamin Dow died September 16, 1904, aged ninety-three years, two months and seven days. He was born in Sterling, Windham County, Connecticut, July 9, 1811. When about nine years of age he, with his parents, Daniel and Susan Douglas Dow, removed to Richfield Springs where he attended school and later learned the carpenter and joiner's trade at which he worked for many years. In 1833 he was married to Miss Martha Doolittle and the union was blessed with two children, Malvina C., deceased, and Mrs. Isabelle Doane, of Fall City, Wisconsin. In 1837 he came to Pulaski where he has since resided and for a great many years was employed in the Ontario Iron Works under the different owners. After the death of his first wife he married her sister, Mary Doolittle, who passed away to the Great Unknown, July 19, 1904, a little less than eight weeks before him, and by whom he had one daughter, Mrs. Martha M. Zufelt, with whom they had made their home for many years and upon whom and her family their double loss falls heavily. Mr. Dow had been confined to his bed since May 1 and on September 15 he received another shock which resulted in his death. His funeral was held Sunday, September 18, at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. B. Felt, of the Congregational church, officiating, of which church the deceased had been a member for many years. There were numerous floral offerings from many kind friends and neighbors. He was laid at rest in the Pulaski cemetery by the side of the one who had only a short time preceded him to that land where sorrow never enters and to await the great Resurrection Morn. The bearers were Messrs. H T. Cooper, A. H. Bun, A. linker, and C. M. Wood.
