      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 28, 1903 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Manwarren District - Mrs. Maria Sherman entered into rest, last Saturday evening, January 24th, after an illness of about one year, during which she was tenderly cared for by her son, N. J. Sherman and his wife. She leaves three brothers, one sister, the above named son, one daughter, Mrs. Amissa Waite, of this place, three grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors, by whom she will be missed, to mourn her loss. Her age was seventy-five years.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 3, 1903 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Manwarren District - Marian Johnson Sherman was born May 9, 1837, at Point Peninsula. Was married to James Sherman, February 17, 1848, whom she survived sixteen years. In 1852 they moved from Jefferson county to the town of Richland on the farm now owned by Nelson Sherman, where she passed gently down the hill of life, leaning on the everlasting arm, appreciating her home, with her children and grandchildren enjoying her society. For the past thirteen months she was confined to the house. On January 18 she had a shock which left her helpless but conscious. She lived until January 24, when she passed gently into the life eternal. She leaves one son, Nelson J. Sherman, one daughter, Aurisa Waite; three grandchildren, Floy Belle Sherman, Nila May and Delizon Waite; three brothers, Samuel Johnson of Henderson, Gustave Johnson of Sandy Creek, John Johnson of Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. Mary Nutting of Pulaski. She lived a devoted Christian life for nearly fifty years. She rests from her labors; her works do follow her.
