- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 13, 1907 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Melvin L. Trumbull - Melvin L. Trumbull was born in the town of Richland, August 8, 1822, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. T. Cooper, in this village, Tuesday, March 5, 1907, where he had been for the last two months. He was the son of Smith and Cynthia Trumbull and had always been a resident of this vicinity. Mr. Trumbull was first married to Cornelia Campbell, who died eleven years ago, and about a year afterward he married Mrs. Sarah Hilton, who survives him. Besides the widow, he is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Cooper, six grandchildren, Charles, Herbert, Pearl and Clarence Cooper, Mrs. William Taylor and Ralph Trumbull; also three sisters, Mrs. Emily Campbell, of Sandy Creek, Mrs. Julia Leavenworth, of Williamstown, Michigan, and Mrs. Mary Balsley, of Pulaski. Mr. Trumbull had been a member of the M. E. church for many years and lived a consistent Christian life. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cooper, Friday, at one o'clock, Rev. Frederick Maunder officiating. The numerous floral tributes were in evidence and two selections, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and “The Invisible Land" were touchingly rendered by Mrs. Hanna Thompson and Mrs. William Vincent. Burial was made at Sandy Creek cemetery.
Newspaper Article - Thursday, April 18, 1907 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Box Estate - Surrogate Mead held court at Pulaski Thursday and received a petition for letters of administration on the estate of Philip Box of Pulaski, a well-known resident of Pulaski, who died on the 4th inst. Esther Box left an estate of $16,000 in cash on deposit in various banks and it will be shared by his heirs who are Rollin D. Box, brother, Pulaski; Esther A. Froude, sister, Pulaski; Lora E. Smith, sister, Newport, Herkimer County, New York. George M. Box and John M. Box, nephews, Pulaski. Letters of administration were asked by Celia T. Cooper on the estate of her father, Melvin L. Trumbull, who died on March 5th last. The estate is valued at $1,200 real and $1,800 personal. Mr. Trumbull's widow lives in Rochester. His survivors are his wife, a daughter Celia T. Cooper, Pulaski, Nellie Taylor, granddaughter, Sandy Creek and Ralph S. Trumbull, grandson, Scriba.
