Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 14, 1953 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Lawrence J. Pennock Dies in Lakeland, Florida - Lawrence J. Pennock, 73, a former well known resident of Richland, died Monday May 4, 1953 at his home in Lakeland, Florida. For many years he was employed by the New York Central Railroad and retired in 1949 as foreman of bridges and buildings. He was born in Orwell, May 29, 1879, the son of Henry and Ellen Pennock. He was a member of Pulaski Lodge, 415, F. & A.M., Pulaski Chapter, 279, Royal Arch Masons and Springbrook Lodge, 646, I.O.O.F. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mayme Wilder Pennock; one son, Harold of Syracuse; one daughter, Mrs. Earl Prunier of Rye; four brothers, Leland of Syracuse; Rozelle of Lyons; Marshall and L. D. Pennock of Orwell; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Donald C. Randall, Church of Christ, Richland, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery Orwell.
