      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 4, 1955 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Yerdon Dies in Utica Hospital - Mrs. Leta M. Yerdon died July 28, 1955 in Faxton hospital, Utica after a long illness. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at St. Luke's church, interment being in Richland cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Delbert A. Yerdon of Utica and Orle B. Yerdon of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a brother, Charles Castor, Rome; five grandchildren and nephews. Mrs. Yerdon was born in Redfield June 22, 1886, a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Streeter Castor. In 1905 she was married to Perley F. Yerdon. He died in 1939. Mrs. Yerdon was a resident of Utica from 1918 until 1953, when she moved to Wisconsin to make her home with her son. While in Utica she operated a restaurant and later was employed at the Home for Aged Men and Couples. She had been a member of St Luke's Episcopal Church.
