Leon H. Stowell, 78, of DeMont St., Lacona, died at
his home on Sunday, July 28.
He was born January 22, 1896 in Boylston, N.Y. the son of Berton and Ettie Hunt Stowell. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1915 and married Elizabeth Shafty on June 12, 1918.
He was employed as a yard foreman at the Blount Lumber Company for 42 years.
He was a member of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church and was a former Mayor of Lacona. Mr. Stowell had been a member of the Sandy Creek Board for several years and was a past master and member of the Sandy Creek Lodge 554 F. & A.M. He was a former president of the BoylstonSandy Creek Cemetery Association
