- Linda's Obituary
Linda Marie Thurston 74 of Sitka, Kentucky passed away October 26, 2019 at her home. She was born February 7, 1945 to Gerald and Winona (Garfat) Thurston in Morley, Michigan. Linda lived with her parents until their passing in 2003. She then went to live with her sister Geraldine in Kentucky. She enjoyed people. She greeted everyone with a smile and "I love you"; no one was a stranger to Linda. She also enjoyed going places, especially to Walmart to see her friendly check out girls and greeters.
She is survived by seven sisters, Geraldine Newsome of Sitka, Kentucky, Donna (Clyde) Inman of Howard City, Carol Ann (Larry) Hill of Lakeview, Bonnie (Greg) O’Berry of Morley, Diane (Dennis) Cornell of Morley, Kathy (Tom) Marek of Big Rapids and Julie (Fred) Jensen of Gowen; two brothers, Gerald Thurston of Canadian Lakes and Ron (Cathy) Thurston of Lakeview. She also had several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for her Kentucky family will be October 28, 2019 at The Father’s House of Prayer in Sitka, Kentucky at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services for her Michigan family will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Boyd Cemetery.
A special thank you to Alivia, Troy and Jamie Hackworth for the excellent care, love and help they gave Linda's sister, Geraldine, while taking such excellent and loving care of Linda. Also, a special thank you to Pastor Derek and Crystal Meade and the Father's House of Prayer family.
