      Betty D. Martin, 81, life resident of Orwell, died Saturday in Oswego. She was born October 18, 1926, in the town of Orwell. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1944 and married Robert D. Martin Sr. on November 12, 1948; he died February 24, 2002. She was the town of Orwell historian and librarian. She was a member of OES #159, Pulaski; Orwell Union Church and the DALKED Class; and Silvercrest Rebecca Lodge, Mexico, NY. Surviving: one son, Robert D. Martin Jr. of Orwell; three daughters, Catherine M O'Keefe of Lakeland, FL, Sharon L. Yerdon of Vienna, OH, and Sue A. Harlander of Redfield; one sister, Nancy Trust of Pulaski; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Blodgett of Cleveland, NY, and Laura Essex of Orwell; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Orwell Volunteer Fire Department or Vorea Community Church.
