Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, May 11, 2010 The Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Grace A. (Rude) Hellinger, 58, of 217 Halsey Road, Mexico, New York, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 7, 2010. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Charles Mellinger, in November 2000 and her father, Murray Rude, died in 1981. Surviving Grace are her mother, Dorothy Rude; her five siblings, Melvin Rude, Kay (Dean) Cunningham, George Smith, Monica Rude (Kyle Johnson) and Judy Conger; five children, Karen (Bob) Balch of Socorro, New Mexico, Joseph (Shannon) Hellinger of Mexico, William (Serenity) Hellinger of Mexico, Rebecca Hellinger of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and Daniel (Christina) Hellinger of Mexico; and 11 grandchildren. Grace was employed by Drivers Village Nissan in Cicero. She was actively involved in the Mexico High School Alumni Association, serving as past president. Donations may be made on behalf of Grace Hellinger to MACS Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, c/o Karen Brown, 150 Tudo Road, Mexico, New York 13114. Funeral service will be noon Thursday at Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, New York. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday in South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. to noon, prior to the service.
