      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 12, 1970 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Robert E. Armstrong Funeral Held Tuesday - Robert E. Armstrong, 71 of Orwell, died Saturday, February 7 at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where he had been a patient for one week. Born September 5, 1898 at Richland, he was the son of Frank and Genevieve Utley Armstrong, and was educated in Ricard and Orwell schools. He was married to Ruth Finster at Orwell on July 16, 1918. They spent the entire 52 years of their married life at their Orwell residence. Mr. Armstrong was for some time Town of Orwell highway superintendent, and later was with the Oswego County highway department, retiring in 1964 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Orwell United Methodist Church and a former member of the Orwell Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Ruth F. Armstrong; a son, Arnold E. Armstrong, of Altmar; a daughter, Mrs. Jesse (Barbara) Stowell of Lacona; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Armstrong of Flint Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie King of Pacoima, California, and Mrs. Earl (Marjorie) Johnson of Pulaski; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 10 at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Ivan Greenfield, pastor of Orwell Union Church officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
