Claire E. Yerdon, 85, Hayes Road, a retired cook, died Sunday at her daughter's home in Redfield.
Services will be from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sanborn-McDaniels & LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Camden. Burial will be in Redfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department or the Robert S. Yerdon Memorial Scholarship Fund, 16 Hayes Road.
Surviving are four daughters, Pauline E. Willson, Florence, N.Y., Shirley M. Hull, DeRuyter, Betty Ann Beebe, Fulton, and Elaine S. Yerdon, Redfield; three sons, Eugene L., Rome, Richard J., McConnellsville, and Gerald E., California, Md.; 33 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Two sons died previously, Ronald L. in 1972 and Robert S. in 1990.
Born on June 14, 1910, in Onaway, Mich., daughter of Walter and Mary Belle Vought Engle, she moved to Redfield 65 years ago from the Oswego area.
She was educated in Hannibal schools and graduated from Oswego Normal School.
She married Leland C. Yerdon on June 20, 1931, in Oswego. He died July 10, 1967.
Mrs. Yerdon taught school in Redfield and retired from the Redfield Hotel in 1972 as a cook. She also had been a cook at the former Ben Lewis House.
She was a member of Redfield Community Church and Redfield Rebekah Lodge 673.
