    • Newspaper Obituary - Monday, November 10, 1952 Binghamton Press - Bernard Spaulding Dies in Cliffside - Binghamton Press Bureau - Oneonta - Bernard E. Spaulding, 66, a retired Delaware & Hudson telegrapher and former funeral director, died yesterday at his home in nearby Cliffside. A native of Binghamton, Mr. Spaulding retired last July, after having been with the railroad in the Oneonta area for some 38 years. He was born Aug. 1, 1886, the son of Judson and Susan (Nealon) Spaulding. His first wife, the former Eva Dorion, died three years ago. A son, John, was killed in a D&H railroad accident in 1942. Mr. Spaulding was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Binghamton. Surviving are his second wife, the former Miss Eleanor Randall, Georgia; a brother, John Spaulding, Bloomsburg, PA; a daughter in law, Mrs. Rose Spaulding of Massachusetts; a stepson, Carson, Georgia and three stepgrandchildren, Carson W. , Wayne E. and Lenore E. , Georgia; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:45 p.m. tomorrow at the Rothery Funeral Home in Grand Street, with the Rev. Louis Van Ess, pastor of St. James Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plains Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 o'clock tonight.
