- Biography: CHARLES R. O’HERIEN
CLOCKVILLE- Charles R. O’Herien, 74, of Clockville, Road, passed away in his sleep on November 17, 2017, in the Bridgewater Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past few months, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Oneida on February 3, 1943, he was the son of Alfred and Louella Gifford O’Herien. A lifelong resident of the area, Charles attended Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central Schools. He married Adah Zimmerman in Oneida on December 19, 1965.
Prior to his retirement with over thirty-five years of service, Charles was employed with Oneida Foundaries as a molder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling and taking road trips with his wife, visiting many states. Charles made the best sugar cookies ever. He was of the Christian faith.
Surviving besides his wife of fifty-two years, Adah are: four daughters and one son-in-law, Wanda O’Herien of Blossvale, Colleen O’Herien of Munnsville, Valerie and Steve Laubenheimer of Hinkley, Vicki O’Herien of Canastota; one son, Charlie O’Herien of Canastota, twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne and Bob Hartwell of Oneida and Gloria Christman of Rome and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, James O’Herien and Roy “Buddy” O’Herien.
Funeral services will be 2PM Wednesday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-2PM, prior to the funeral service.
