Brown, 79, of Lewis Point Road died Monday at Oneida Healthcare Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Brown was born in Oneida and lived in Canastota since 1962. She retired in 1983 as a home health aide for Oneida Castle and Sherrill. Surviving are her husband, Fred R.; two sons, Fred W. Sr. of Canastota and Larry L. of Canandaigua; two daughters, Patricia Malbouf and Gladys Collins, both of Canastota; a brother, Harley Scribner of Florida; a sister, Mildred Zimmerman of Oneida; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert A. Bromfield officiating. Burial is in Whitelaw Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 201 James St.
