    • Newspaper Obituary - March 26, 1955 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader Evening News - V. J. Kennedy Dies UMW Clerk Here - Vincent J. Kennedy, Jr., 37, of 163 Willow street, Plymouth, died of a heart attack in his home yesterday afternoon at 2:25 shortly after returning from work. He was employed as a clerk in the offices of District 1, United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Kennedy was a nephew of Joseph Kennedy, Wilkes-Barre State secretary of Mines. Plymouth Patrolman Michale Machutas and John Garber responded to a call for aid with the borough ambulance and worked for 20 minutes on Mr. Kennedy under the direction of Police Chief Lawrence L. Kendig but to no avail. Dr. James Judge, who was also summoned, pronounced Kennedy dead. Investigation was made by Deputy Coroner Joseph W. Piszczek. Born in Plymouth on October 11, 1917, Mr. Kennedy attended Plymouth schools, was a graduate of Kingston High School, and at the time of his death was attending University of Scranton. He served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was formerly employed for many years at Loree No. 3. Colliery, Hudson Coal Company, before joining the UMWA staff. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Plymouth, and its socieities, also a member of Shawnee-Plymouth Post 1425 VFW. Surviving are his wife, the former Tessie Kazinski of Plymouth, and two children, Thomas and Rosemary; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent J. Kennedy, Sr., Plymouth and a sister, Mrs. Charles McCarthy, Trenton N.J.

      Newspaper Obituary - March 28, 1955 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader Evening News - Ritual Services For Vincent J. Kennedy Jr. - Ritual services for Vincent J. Kennedy Jr., late of 163 Willow Street, will be held tonight by various groups at the James V. Brennan Funeral Home, 133 West Main Street. Shawnee- Plymouth Post 1425 VFW meet at 7:30 at the Post Home from where they will go in a body to the funeral home. Members of St. Alphonsus Retreat League, Plymouth area, meet at 8 at the funeral home. Rev. James D. Collins, rector of the Retreat House at Tobbyhanna , will lead in reciting the rosary. St. Mary's PTA will meet at 7:15 in front of the funeral home to recite the rosary for Vincent J. Kennedy, Jr., whos funeral will be held on Tuesday morning.
