    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, May 3, 1996 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Deceased Name: HAZEL H. NURSE - Former Parish-area resident Hazel H. Nurse, 98, died Thursday at her home in Front Royal, Va. A native of Parish, Mrs. Nurse lived in the Parish and Mexico area before moving recently to Front Royal. She was a retired school teacher and had taught elementary school at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown, Alexandria Bay and Chittenango central school districts. Mrs. Nurse was a graduate of Parish High School and had attended Oswego State Teachers College and a special education program at Syracuse University. She was the widow of William Nurse. Mrs. Nurse was a member of Parish United Methodist Church and was active in the Senior Nutrition Program, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Parish Senior Citizens. Surviving are three sons, Vernon of Cape Coral, Fla., William of Lorton, Va., and Jerome of Mexico; a daughter, Eileen Stramel of Rileyville, Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Harter Funeral Home, Parish, the Rev. Patrick Holder officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish.
