- Clifford F. Damon, 82, of Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, 133 Pratt Street, and formerly of the Bonney Rd., Watertown, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Mr. Damon was born September 15, 1928 in Watertown, NY to Clifford A. and Genevieve B. (Farmer) Damon. He was educated in local area schools. Mr. Damon joined the United States Navy in November of 1945, and was honorably discharged in October of 1947. He worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 910, Watertown, for many years.
He married Doris Lee Smith March 3, 1947 in Watertown. Mrs. Damon passed away September 30, 2003.
He is survived by 14 children: M. Claire D-Arcy, Pflugerville, TX, Diane (Fred) Cole, Harrisville, NY, Karen (Gary) Burns, Watertown, Mary Damon, Lakeland, FL, Catherine Damon, Lake George, NY, Paul Damon, Watertown, Peter Damon, Philadelphia, NY, Timothy (Kim) Damon, Potsdam, NY, Eric (Michelle) Damon, Watertown, Jill (Frank) Dehn, Largo, FL, Judy (Daniel III) Mosely, Triangle, VA, Sherry (Avery) Brown, Hermon, NY, Gregory (Melissa) Damon, Pflugerville, TX, Jordan Damon, Watertown; 2 sisters: Lucille (Howard) Rowe, Watertown, Genevieve (Ed) Miller, Watertown; a brother: Richard Damon; 33 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Clifford was pre-deceased by 3 brothers: Philip Damon, Dale Damon, and Ronald Damon.
A prayer service will be held Saturday, September 3rd, 10:15 am at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home followed by an 11 am funeral mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Richard Kennedy officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be from 4 pm - 7 pm Friday, September 2nd, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, mass cards may be offered up in his remembrance. Donations may also be made in his name to the charity of one’s choice.
