      Rodney W. Jennings, 52, of 7696 North St., instrumental music director at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Senior High School, Parish, died Sunday evening in Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, after a lengthy battle with lupus.
      The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anthony Keeffe, pastor of St. John's the Evangelist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
      Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St. Contributions may be made to the Rodney Jennings Scholarship Fund, in care of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Senior High School.
      Surviving are his wife, Kathleen R.; four sons, Rodney W., Manlius, and John C., Timothy H. and Thomas G., all of Pulaski; a daughter, Dorothy J., Syracuse; two sisters, Beverly Conklin, Gouverneur, and Mary Cowles, Colton, and several nieces and nephews.
      A son, Joseph William, died in infancy.
      He was born July 18, 1938, in Potsdam, a son of Chestley and Gertrude Jones Jennings. He graduated from Potsdam High School in 1956 and from Crane School of Music at Potsdam State University College in 1960. He received a master's degree from Potsdam College in 1966.
      He married Kathleen M. Reilly Aug. 22, 1964, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Albany, with the Rev. John A. Kavenaugh officiating.
      Mr. Jennings was instrumental instructor at Hermon-DeKalb Central High School from 1960 to 1966. From 1967 until the present, he had been the high school instrumental music director at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown. Since becoming the only music teacher and band director at the school, Mr. Jennings was consistently able to lure a quarter of the school's 400-member student body into the marching band.
      His bands have won numerous first-place finishes in competition at the New York State Fairgrounds, Syracuse, and at the Adirondack Parade of Bands, Old Forge.
      A resident of Pulaski since 1967, Mr. Jennings was a communicant of St. John's the Evangelist Church, and a member of Northern Oswego County Ambulance and the Delta Kappa Theta Fraternity. He was also a member of the New York State School Music Association, the Oswego County Music Educators' Association and the Oswego County and New York State Teachers' associations.
