Carolyn Virginia Majestic Crawford, 73, of Athens, passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at her residence.
A native of Norfolk, Va., a former resident of Avon Park, Fla., and a resident of Athens for the past 26 years, she was a daughter of the late Hawley and Virginia Luter Majestic.
A member of First Baptist Church of Athens, she was employed as an LPN for 54 years. She worked 28 years as an ICU nurse at Walker Medical Center in Florida and later worked at NHC Health Care and in home health.
She loved the Lord and life, loved to sing and play games and always had a joke. She helped others and gave of herself to help the poor. In 1997, she along with her husband started In His Name Services, which provided medical equipment for those who were without insurance or unable to afford the equipment at no charge to the person.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Daniel Crawford; four sons, Aaron Amick of Florida, Matthew Amick of Georgia, Robert Amick of Cleveland, and Randy Crawford of Pulaski, N.Y.; one daughter, Julie Morris of Oklahoma; one brother, Donald Majestic of Etowah; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at First Baptist Church of Athens with the Rev. Daustin Kratzer officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
