Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 31, 1995 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Leila M. Coffie, 85, Retired Teacher, Dies - Leila M. Coffie, 85, of Centerville Road, former teacher, widow of retired farmer Leroy F. Coffie, died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Gross officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Surviving are a son, Leroy, Pulaski; four daughters, Rita Brennan, Texas, New York, Lucretia Bailey, Franklinton, North Carolina, Mildred Mantor, Pulaski, and Barbara Layman, Richland, 26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Born September 1, 1909, in Pulaski, a daughter of Charles and Flora Reynolds Lacelle, she graduated from Pulaski High School and Potsdam Normal School. She married Leroy F. Coffie on November 7, 1928, in Adams. Mr. Coffie retired from farming in 1965 and died August 18, 1970. A life resident of the Pulaski area, she was a school teacher for several years and was employed with several restaurants. She also was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church.
