- FUNERAL SET THURSDAY FOR ROBERT L. DYE, 71

The funeral for Robert L. Dye, 71, of 813 Franklin St., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home with the Rev. Cliff Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
Mr. Dye died at 5:11 p.m. Monday in the emergency room of the Samaritan Medical Center.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Surviving are his wife, Earlene "Pat"; two sons, John O., Pulaski, and Robert L., address unknown; three grandchildren; a brother, Leo, New Berlin; four sisters, Bonnie Lumas, Ilion, Winnie Hiltz, Little Falls, Josephine Mead, Mohawk, and Mrs. Everett (Betty) Fralick, Herkimer; and several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers, Jerry, Donald, Russell and James, died before him.
Born Dec. 22, 1922, in Mohawk, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Bessie Dye, he attended Mohawk schools. He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the Pacific theater of operations.
A lineman for New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail railroads, Mr. Dye retired in 1983 after 38 years of service. He lived in Mohawk until moving to Watertown in 1957.
He married Ruth DeNio on Sept. 24, 1948, in Pulaski. She died Nov. 21, 1975. Then he married Earlene W. Bennett on April 24, 1976, in Watertown.
Mr. Dye was a member of Elks Lodge 496 and Brownville American Legion Post 588 and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1400.
