Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, December 29, 1960 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Attack Fatal to E. D. Martin -Edward D. Martin, 80, of Richland, retired railroad worker, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon of a heart attack. Dr. Thompson, who was called, stated that Mr. Martin, who had been under his care for a heart ailment, was trying to shovel his car out of the snow at the village dump when stricken. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Bowers Martin; five sons, Fred, Robert, William and Henry Martin, all of Richland, and Edward Martin of Pennellville; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Gladys) Stevens and Mrs. Wyon (Doris) Taplin, both of Richland; Mrs. Hollis (Dorothy) Weed of Pennellville, and Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Hilton of Fulton; 48 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ida Cole of Syracuse. Mr. Martin was born June 9, 1880, at Richland where he had always resided. He was the son of Peter and Fannie Gereau Martin. He retired from the Maintenance department of the New York Central Railroad 22 years ago and was a member of the Railroad Brotherhood. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
