Newspaper Obituary - September 2, 2006 Watertown Daily Times - Dennis R. Martin, 58, Richland, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse, from heart failure. Mr. Martin worked for 33 years at the P&C Warehouse, Syracuse, retiring in 2003. Born Aug. 8, 1948, in Richland, son of Harry E. and Arlene Waite Martin, he graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1966 and entered the Army Oct. 27, 1966. He volunteered for duty in Vietnam and was assigned Nov. 1, 1967, in the First Infantry Division. He was wounded Oct. 11, 1968, and sent to a hospital in Japan, from which he was transferred to Valley Forge Hospital, Pa., until his discharge Dec. 4, 1968. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, a Meritorious Unit Citation and the Purple Heart. A marriage ended in divorce. He was a member of Teamsters Local 317 and the Richland Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Martin, Baldwinsville; a son, Donald, Minetto; his mother of Richland, and four grandchildren. His father died in 1991. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
