Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 3, 1897 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - In the town of Richland on February 17, 1897, occurred the death of Mrs. Judith M. Fobes, wife of G. A. Fobes, aged eighty-two years and six months. The subject of this sketch was born in the town of Ellisburg, Jefferson county, New York, in 1811, and resided there until she was twenty-seven years old. She then went to the state of Ohio, where she was united in marriage to John Mayhew in 1846. She became a widow in 1864 and in 1865 she was married to G. A. Fobes and came to the town of Richland, where she has since resided. She has been a great sufferer for many years, but always patient and uncomplaining. Always very charitable, she could not see or hear of misery in any form without wanting to assist in relief. While living in Ohio, she united with the Free-Will Baptist church and has always been a good, consistent Christian woman, known by her good works. She leaves an aged husband and numerous relatives and friends to mourn her loss
