- Newspaper Obituary - January 29, 1951 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader Evening News - Mrs. William Mattick Dies - Miners Mills Woman Ill Several Months - Mr. William Mattick, 121 Finn Street, Miners Mills, died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 following an illness of several months. Mrs. Mattick was the sister of Thomas Kinney, Wilkes-Barre Publishing Company printer, and mother of Mrs. Hugh W. Corcoran, wife of the Plains funeral director. Mrs. Mattick was a daughter of the late Hugh and Annie Fleming Kennedy, former residents of Plymouth, and Miners Mills. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Besides her husband, she is survived by six daughters; Mrs. Vincent McGilloway, at home; Mrs. Corcoran, Mrs. Luke A. Sheridan, Mrs. Joseph Dohman, both of Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Thomas Egan, Miners Mills, and Mrs. James Gavin, Plains; also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one sister, Miss Mary Kinney, Miners Mills; two brothers Frank, Miners Mills, and Thomas, Kingston.

Mrs. Mattick was the wife of William Mattick, foreman at Franklin Colliery of the Lehigh Valley Coal Compnay and sister of Thomas Kinney, Times-Leader Evening News printer. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Annie Flemming Kennedy, former Plymouth and Miner Mills residents. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Besides her husband, she is survived by six daughters; Mrs. Vincent McGilloway, at home; Mrs. Hugh W. Corcoran, wife of the Plains funeral director; Mrs. Luke A. Sheidan, Mrs. Joseph Dohman, both of Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Thomas Eagan, Miners Mills, and Mrs. James Gavin, Plains; also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Kinney, Miners Mills; two brothers, Frank, Miners Mills, and Thomas, Kingston. The funeral will be held Thursday monring at 9 from the home with a high mass of requiem at Blessed Sacrament Church at 9:30. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Hanover Township.
