    • Newspaper Obituary - April 8, 1954 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - E. H. SPENCER OF CAMDEN DIES - Funeral services for Elwin H. Spencer, 50, of Camden, who died in Syracuse Memorial Hospital Friday following a long illness, were conducted Sunday from the B. A. Sanborn and Son Funeral Home at Camden, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. George E. Stiegler, rector of the Episcopal Church officiated. Burial was made in Dugway Cemetery. Members of the Camden I.O.O.F. Lodge and Masonic Lodge paid their respects at the funeral home Saturday evening. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Jennings Spencer; his father, Charles Spencer of Brewerton; five sisters, Mrs. George (Blanche) Waters of Oneida, Mrs. Irene Stacy of Syracuse, Mrs. Emil (Emma) Hilton of Brewerton, Mrs. Chester (Anna) Murphy of Parish and Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Rogers of Jordan; four brothers, Fenton of Youngstown, Ohio, Stanley of Richland, Richard of Pulaski and William V. Spencer of Fulton. Mr. Spencer was born July 23, 1903, in Albion, the son of Charles and the late Lena Montondo Spencer. He married Florence Jennings in Pulaski on April 5, 1928. The couple lived here following their marriage until 1938 when they moved to McConnellsville where he was employed by the F. S. Harden Co. for 17 years. Moving to Camden in 1941, he was district deputy grand master of Oneida District II, I.O.O.F. in 1944-45 and was a past president of the Past Noble Grands Assn. of Camden Lodge, I.O.O.F. He was an active member of the Queen Village Rebekah Lodge and a member of Philanthropic Lodge, F & A. M. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Pulaski.
