    • Online Obituary - Marguerite Mary Kennedy, 88 of Glen Burnie passed away on June 11, 2021, 16 years after the onset of dementia symptoms and 17 days after the death of her husband, Edward. Peggy was born on May 29, 1933 in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late James and Elizabeth Thomas. She worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone, where she spoke to Bob Hope and later at the MVA, where she met Oprah Winfrey. She enjoyed visiting relatives in her hometown in Pennsylvania and singing in the church choir where she met many friends. She was completely devoted to her family and their happiness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Edward P. Kennedy, Sr. Peggy is survived by her children, Edward Kennedy, Jr. and Karen Strecker (John); her grandchildren, Justin Kennedy (Jackie), Emily Kamal (Maen), Jason Strecker, Matthew Kennedy; and her step great-granddaughter, Ashley Pawliske. Her dedicated caregivers became part of her family as well. Gladys Coates was with her from the earliest days of her illness to the very last days; Lynette Brown, Jennifer Martin and most recently, Tiameka Bouie. The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Wednesday, June 16th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 16th at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be on Thursday at 10:45 AM at the MD Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake., 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122.
