Newspaper Obituary - April 16, 1913 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Stillwater - Martha Laining Brownell [sic], wife of G. W. Brownell, was born at Verona, New York, April 7, 1842, and passed away at 6:30 o'clock April 8, 1913, at her home in Stillwater, aged 71 years. For several months she had been a great sufferer from cancer. She was a kind, patient wife, a devoted mother and will be much missed in the home where over fifty years of her life had been spent. An aged husband, two sons, F. S. Brownell of Stillwater, Norman Brownell of Ricard, and one daughter, Mrs. Philip Speck of Kasoag, are left to mourn their loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Shares of Sandy Creek, Friday afternoon, April 11. Burial in the Evergreen cemetery. Those present from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Philip Speck, Herbert and Carrie Speck, and Mrs. Earl Smith, of Kasoag; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brownell and Charles Hall of Ricard; Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Reese and Mr. and Mrs. Z. T. Matteson of Altmar and Frank Turner of Worthington, Minnesota.
Newspaper Article - Wednesday, April 16, 1913 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Orwell - The funeral of Mrs. George Brownell was held at her late residence Friday afternoon, April 11, and burial made in Evergreen cemetery.
