Daniel G. Luke, Jr., born January 20, 1928 in Baldwinsville, NY, son of Daniel Sr. and Mary J McCarthy, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021. Daniel was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville. After meeting the love of his life, Anna, on a blind date at a barn dance, they were married on August 4, 1951. He was a member of the National Guard and worked on the Erie Canal opening locks and setting buoys. He also worked at Mercer Milling and helped on local dairy farms. He retired after 31 years at Allied Chemical. He spent his retirement gardening and enjoying visits from his family. He and his wife were the caretakers of the Kingdom Road Cemetery for 35 years.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 69 years Anna D (Lennon); daughters Anna (Gary) Custer, Nancy (Greg) Yerden, Carolyn Yerdon; sons William (Nancy) and John Luke; two brothers, Richard and John; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Dorothy (1967), parents, and his sisters Elizabeth and Mary.
Services will be private. Donations may be made to the Memphis/Warners Fire Dept, the Redfield Fire Department, or the Kingdom Cemetery.
