- Newspaper Obituary - Sunday November 17, 1991 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Robert J. Wilder, Retired Dairy Farmer Dies - Robert J. "Bob' Wilder, 78, Route 11 North, a retired dairy farmer and cattle dealer, died Friday evening at his home, where he was under the care of Oswego County Hospice. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with Rev. Catherine Salisbury, associate pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Oswego County Hospice, in care of H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse, Pulaski, N.Y. 13142. Surviving are his wife, Venita; three sons, James Wilder, Brandon, England; Larry Wilder, Sandy Creek, and Dr. Joseph Wilder, D.V.M., Rochester, New Hampshire; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Valerie) Hellinger, Nashua, New Hampshire; Mrs. Robert (Joan) Spink, Pulaski, and Linda Wilder, Syracuse; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, C. D. Wilder, Pulaski; a sister, Mrs. Bea Thomas, Pulaski, and several nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Florence Montondo, Helen Grinnell and Geraldine Wilder, and three brothers, Thomas, John and Lemuel Wilder, died before him. Born on July 15, 1913, in the town of Sandy Creek, a son of the late Thomas and Bertha Coon Wilder, he was educated in Pulaski schools. On June 2, 1940, he married Venita Skinner in Pulaski. A dairy farmer and cattle dealer in the town of Sandy Creek, he retired in 1985. Since his retirement he was a wood crafter. Mr. Wilder was a member of Park United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
