    • Online Obituary - Daniel C. Flannery 1946-2002 - BINGHAM - Daniel Charles Flannery, 56, died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, June 5, 2002. He was born July 5, 1946, in Skowhegan to Robert and Arlene (Robinson) Flannery. Dan graduated with the class of 1965 from Oneida High School in Oneida, N.Y. He served with the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. After serving in the U.S. Army, he was employed at dairy farms in New York, until he returned to Maine in 1973. Dan was employed with Scott Paper Co. of Winslow for 19 years and most recently was employed in the lumbering industry in Somerset County. Dan enjoyed cooking, gardening, taking his grandchildren for rides on his 1947 Ford tractor and his annual Flannery-Hutcheon family reunions. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sharon (Stewart) Flannery of Bingham; his sons, Will Flannery and his wife, Vivki, of Presque Isle, and Ryan Flannery of Bingham, and special friend, Hannah Hinkley of Winthrop; a daughter, Carrie Peabody and her husband, Robert, of Solon; two loving grandchildren, Cody Daniel and Miranda Kathlyne Flannery of Presque Isle; his mother, Arlene Flannery of Bingham; two brothers, Thomas Flannery and his wife, Penny, and Robert Flannery of Bingham; two sisters, Mary Jane Vaughn of Bingham and Patricia White and her husband, Barry, of Lakeville, Mass.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at the 1st Congregational Church on Meadow Street in Bingham with the Rev. Douglas W. Drown. Interment will be at the Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow. Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home of Bingham.
