- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 7 1999 The Tribune - Scranton, Pennsylvania - Louise Wirth - April 5, 1999 - Louise Wirth, formerly of Scranton, died Monday evening at the East Mountain Manor, Plains Township, after an illness. Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Marie Swenyard Samuel, she attended Scranton public schools and prior to retirement, she was employed by Scranton Dry Goods. She had great faith in God. Surviving are three daughters, Louise Arnold and Marlon May, both of Lawton, Okla.; and Irene Drag, Scranton; three sons, Gerald Arnold, York; Edward Arnold, Old Forge; a sister, Dorothy Lowery, Scranton, 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preced in death by a son, Paul, in 1990; two brothers, Gerald and William; and two sisters, Thelma Reiner and Marie Hylick. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Basilica, by the Rev. Patrick Geinzer, CP, Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements, Thomas J.
