- Obituary of Retha A. Spink
Retha Spink, age 78, life resident of Orwell and Altmar, passed away Saturday at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home in Watertown. Retha was born December 22, 1943 in Williamstown the daughter of Glenn and Gladys Dawley Spink. She was employed by the APW School District as a bus driver for over 20 years, retiring in 2012. She also worked at the Salmon River Inn as a bartender for many years. Retha was a former member of the Altmar Methodist Church. She had a deep love of animals and donated a lot of her time and resources to local animal shelters.
Surviving are her nephews, Richard Spink of Pulaski, Bill Spink (Becky Hart) of Florida, John (Judy) Janack of Altmar, David Janack of Bernhards Bay, Mark Pike of Altmar and Irving Pike of Bernhards Bay and niece Gloria Pike of Fulton, and many other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Spink, Richard Spink, Doris Pike and Esther Kimple, and by her longtime companion Howard Frances in 1977.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., on Thursday, September 8th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Mapleview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 2 to 3 prior to the funeral.
