He retired in 1990 as a case worker for the Oswego County Department of Social Services after 27 years. He retired as pastor of Maple View Baptist Church after 28 years. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Survivors: His wife of 46 years, the former Patricia Tillotson; four sons, Douglas of Parish, Richard of Mexico, Roger of Minetto and Ronald of Pulaski; five grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Harter Funeral Home. Burial, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 9 Washington Ave., Mexico.
